Life Journey Work

About

Life journey work is undertaken with children/young people and their parents/carers. The child/young person’s narrative is constructed from their sense of reality and then reconstructed with the sharing of information to create a factual, cohesive narrative. This information is then more robustly embedded into the children’s sense of identity with the aim to bolster their emotional wellbeing.

Aims and Objectives

This development course seeks to explore the following topics:

. Tools and games to help facilitate conversations about a child's past.

. Creating safety to discuss difficult subjects

. The creation of life story books

. How and why life journey work helps children/young people
