About
This training helps participants devleop a greater understanding of children who self harm. Patricipants will be informed of contemporary research relating to self-harm and how to respond to children who demonstrate these behaviours.
Aims and Objectives
- Identifying behaviours which indicate children are self-harming.

- Practical approaches to manage immediate concerns.
- Understand how to support a young person who self-harms and support young people on building up their own strength and resilience.
​
- Enhance participants skills, knowledge and confidence in communicating effectively with young people with mental health issues and to be able to identify and respond to risk factors.
​
- Services which are available to assist foster carers who are managing self-harming behaviours.
